Winemaking

Refreshing berry notes on the nose develop into plump yet tart flavours on the palate, with serious presence.

A tantalising match for all sorts of dishes, including red meat and chilli heat.

Want to know more?

Digby’s CEO and Head Blender, Trevor, only declares a vintage year for our rosés when the red grapes show a certain force of flavour.

The 2018 harvest left Trevor no choice but to display them triumphantly in this, the third edition of Digby’s Vintage Rosé and we are delighted for the world to taste fruit from our first owned vineyard site – a true gem.

A wine of weight, vigour and yet sophistication.

Technical details

Digby’s Hilden Vineyard is planted on Wealden clay in a bowl-shaped layout that captures the sunlight, which rolls down the gently sloped vines. This enables fabulous ripeness in the red grapes, in particular, and Hilden has become our most prized vineyard location.

2018 Vintage

Do you remember the swelteringly hot summer of 2018? We do; A knockout year for all English wines with bounteous harvests of rich, ripe fruit.

Taste a piece of English winemaking history with our 2018 Vintage Rosé.

PREVIOUS VINTAGES DECLARED: 2009 & 2014

With the red Pinot fruits taking the lead, we wanted to let as much of their pure, fresh flavours come through in the wine by vinifying predominantly in stainless steel vats. And then we let time take its course, ageing the wine gently on lees and then under cork.

A wine of confidence and dexterity.
