Particulars

Crafted only in rare vintages, this second expression of our Blanc de Blancs celebrates vibrant, fruit-led generosity.

The 2018 vintage was glorious and this blend is built around grapes from our prized Hilden Vineyard in Kent. Then an extended slumber with seven years on the lees has woven a sophisticated tapestry of bright flavours and rich complexity that stays with you long after your last sip.

True to our word that we would only make a Blanc de Blancs in exceptional years, this is the second Blanc de Blancs produced by Digby in our 13 years of winemaking.

The 2013 and 2018 are different in many ways, which makes vintage winemaking so special, 2013 was a cool year, where 2018 is the start of our warm epoch, which allows for a more flavoursome, generousity of flavour and character.

The 2013 won gold at Wine GB awards in 2026 and received 95 points from Vinous.com from Anne Krebiehl MW. We look forward to seeing what this vintage will bring.

The Regions

Kent (Lead), Dorset, West Sussex

2018 is widely celebrated as one of the UK’s finest vintages and is considered by many as the best of the modern era.

It was quite simply a year when the stars aligned for English winemaking. Following four perfect weeks of weather during flowering, we enjoyed a record-breaking summer that was reported as the warmest since 1910.

This prolonged warmth, paired with a dry autumn, gave us the luxury of allowing the grapes to hang on the vines and ripen fully. The result was exceptionally high sugar levels and a large harvest of top-quality fruit, bringing a vibrant, fruit-led generosity to the wine.
