DIGBY TURNS ENGLISH SPARKLING WINE INTO A GLOBAL PRESTIGE CATEGORY

In just four years since the launch of Digby Fine English, its unique approach to producing English sparkling wines has made Digby a trailblazer. It is now the fastest growing exporter of prestige English sparkling wines. and has helped transform English fizz into an internationally desirable prestige category. As England’s first negociant, Digby builds long-term relationships with growers and skillfully blends across counties and soiltypes. This adventurous approach and a confident focus to sell this maverick Englishness to a global market, have made Digby one of the most innovative luxury wine brands. With numerous golden awards across the range, Digby Fine English  has won listings for its signature Digby Fine English 2010 Vintage Brut and other styles in the USA, Japan, Hong Kong and Australia.

Trevor Clough, co-founder and head blender of Digby Fine English, adds, “The USA, Hong Kong and Japan are thirsty for English sparkling wine. The US market for English wine could grow larger than the UK one. We just launched Digby in California which has its own buoyant local market for sparkling wines, and consumers are demanding quality. Currently, we now have more Michelin stars in our listings in the USA than in the UK. We are nearing 50 percent of our sales being export. These markets have helped grow the Digby brand significantly, and we are proud it is recognized as an ambassador of English winemaking.”

Digby’s UK sales are being established strongly via a surge in prestige listings. Working with Armit, Digby is now available by the glass in more and more London hotspots, making the brand a more accessible luxury. Venues include:
