Who doesn’t have a competitive streak?  We are not seeking to build the biggest fizz house in the world (we will leave that to corporate behemoth Moet & Chandon), but we are certainly hoping to be considered as one of the few ultimate expressions of English sparkling which can stand tall next to any and all competition.  Our first medal was a Silver from the very prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards 2013, the year of our launch, then in 2014 we started winning Golds and Trophies and have never looked back! In fact, in 2014 the world’s top fizz critic, Tom Stevenson, launched the ultimate competition, the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships, and our first ever release, the 2009 Vintage Reserve Brut, won Gold & the trophy for the best wine in England.  #1.  We were floored and delighted, as you can imagine – what a moment for two entrepreneurs following their dream!

Now, less than Gold just won’t do. In the 2019 awards circuit, Digby was declared:

  • Gold & the best vintage brut Trophy wine in England for our 2010 Vintage Reserve Brut
  • Gold & the best NV rosé sparkling wine in England for our Leander Pink NV Brut
  • Gold for our Non Vintage Brut

Along the way, we have been reviewed by many of the great critics and have also bested Champagne many times in blind tastings, even wines like Dom Perignon and Krug that one might have thought would be unassailable by an upstart like us.  What fun!

Try your own blind tasting today, order a selection of Digby bottles here, pick up some similarly priced Champagnes or other English sparkling wines, cloak them in tin foil and get your friends round!
